Welcome to Saint Chinian!
Saint Chinian is a genuine village dating back to the early Middle Age.
Wine production has been the main industry since the 19th century.
It is also the centre of the wine region, AOP Saint Chinian, and is the focal point in the surrounding area.
Twice a week (Thursday and Sunday) a market takes place in the village, three minutes from he house, selling regional products; cheese, vegetables, meat etc.
The village has several restaurants/bars, all of them located on Grand rue, bakers, butchers, banks (ATM) and a newsagent.
You will find a small supermarket (SPAR) in the village and a lager one (Intermarché) on the outskirts of the village.
By car you will reach the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean
sea in about 35 minuets. For those who prefer pebble beaches
there are swimming spots in nearby villages.
The opportunities for leisure pursuits are almost infinite:
walking, hiking, cycling, canoeing, golfing and wine tasting.
Beziers and Narbonne are the closest biggest cities.
A bus from Saint Chinian will take you to Beziers in about 40 minutes.
The nearest airports ar Beziers Cap d'Agde, Carcasonne, Montpellier and Toulouse.
By train, you can reach Beziers from Paris (TGV) and from Barcelona.
